Groups and Meetings
What types of groups are offered?
We offer Multidisciplinary Peer Consultation Groups.
When are the meetings?
Each group has its own meeting schedule. When you apply, you will be matched with a group based on the availability that you give us.
How do I find a meeting?
You will be matched with a group based on the availability that you provide when you apply.
How often do groups meet?
Consultation groups meet once every four weeks.
What is the holiday schedule?
Groups meet every four weeks, regardless of holidays. This means your schedule is consistent and easy to plan around. On days that coincide with holidays, your group can choose to either hold the meeting as scheduled or skip that session and resume at the next meeting.
How long are the meetings?
Each meeting lasts 1 hour.
Are meetings in person or online?
All meetings are conducted online, allowing flexibility for members across different locations.
What technology is required to attend my meetings?
Meetings are online with video and audio. We recommend joining from a computer or laptop for the best experience. Therapy Peer meetings are as simple to connect to as a Zoom meeting.
What does it mean for groups to be peer-based and peer-run?
Our groups are designed to be peer-based and peer-run, meaning that all members actively participate in discussions and decision-making. There is no designated leader or hierarchy within the group; instead, every member contributes equally to foster an environment of collaboration and mutual support. This structure allows therapists to share their experiences, insights, and challenges in a supportive setting, making the consultation process more enriching and effective.
What happens during a meeting?
A typical Therapy Peer meeting is a collaborative and supportive experience. Members gather online via video and audio, creating a comfortable atmosphere for open discussion. We recommend that participants join from a quiet and private location, similar to telehealth meetings, to ensure confidentiality and minimize distractions. While the discussions do not involve Protected Health Information (PHI), maintaining a sense of privacy is important to foster trust among group members. Each session lasts 1 hour and is structured to allow everyone a chance to share insights, seek guidance on challenges, and discuss relevant topics. The peer-run format encourages equal participation, fostering a sense of community and connection among therapists. Whether you’re sharing your experiences or providing feedback to colleagues, meetings are designed to enhance your professional growth and support your practice.
Can I discuss Protected Health Information (PHI) during meetings?
No, discussing Protected Health Information (PHI) during Therapy Peer meetings is not allowed. To maintain a safe and supportive environment for all members, it is important to respect confidentiality and avoid sharing any identifiable patient information. Instead, we encourage members to focus on general experiences, challenges, and insights related to their practices. This approach ensures a collaborative atmosphere while safeguarding the privacy of individuals.
Can I be part of more than one group?
No, members are limited to one consultation group to ensure focused and meaningful participation.
Can I change groups if I don’t like mine?
Yes, we want you to love your consultation group. If you don’t, you can request to change groups.
